Community Involvement

At Star Choice Credit Union, we’re dedicated to making our community stronger and a better place to live, by helping those in need. We strive to live out the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

Each year, we identify and coordinate numerous opportunities for our members and employees to give back to the community. These efforts benefit a wide variety of organizations and causes in Minnesota, specifically within Hennepin County.

In the past, some of our volunteer efforts have included:

HILLCREST COMMUNITY SCHOOL

For the past couple years, we have been donating and serving ice cream at Hillcrest's Annual Back-to-School Night. Back-to-School Night is a wonderful opportunity for all parents and caregivers to meet the teachers and administrators; to see the classrooms, the library, and the computer lab; and to learn first-hand what your children will be learning and doing this school year! We also volunteer to serve lunch once a month at Hillcrest. It is a great way to get out into the community and visit with the kids.

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)

VEAP founders believed that helping a neighbor in need ultimately strengthens the community. VEAP has been operating under this principle for 35 years, providing a range of services to help low-income people meet immediate needs and reach their long-term goal of stability. Today, VEAP serves the residents of Bloomington, Richfield, Edina and South Minneapolis utilizing a unique mix of professional and volunteer services. Star Choice has stocked food shelves, helped with the holiday season, donated time, money, and more.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Star Choice has partnered with Meals on Wheels and delivers hot meals to Bloomington residents each month.
